Remember when we used to put every single form input into a global Redux store? We created hundreds of boilerplate action types, reducers, and selectors for data that lived for five seconds.

The Shift to Server State

Today, 80% of what we used to call 'state' is actually remote server cache. Tools like TanStack Query and React Server Components handle deduplication, revalidation, and caching automatically.

For the remaining 20% of local UI state, simple URL search params and lightweight primitives provide a cleaner and more shareable developer experience.
